Thomas C. Gentry, age 61, of Omro, died peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his family on Thursday, March 10, 2011. He was born April 17, 1949, in Paradise, Texas, the son of Billy and June (Sawyer) Gentry. He grew up near Harrisburg, PA. Tom married Eva M. Horton, 36 years ago and together this union was blessed with seven children. He had been a pastor in W. Sacramento, California and then a Missionary in Romania for 18 years. Tom loved his work and above all else, his family.
Tom is loved and will be missed by his wife, Eva M. Gentry of Omro; children, Cody (Betty) Gentry of Woodford, VA, Starlite (Timothy) Carpenter of Omro, Rex (Laura Prochin) Gentry of Hollywood, FL, Lita (Ovidiu) Cornea of Malawi, Africa, Tommy Gentry of Omro, Erik Gentry of Omro, and Miranda Gentry of Omro; grandchildren, Casandra and Clayton Gentry, Tomas, Isaiah, Justus, and Aleczander Carpenter, and Jessica and Aimee Cornea; his mother, June (Russell) Case; sisters, Pamela (James) Whalen and Rose Crosby; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Gentry.
In respect to TomÂ's memory, the family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, March 14, 2011 at Wyldewood Baptist Church, 3030 Witzel Ave., Oshkosh, from 4:00 P.M. until 6:45 P.M. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 P.M. at church with Rev. Randall King officiating. Tom will be laid to rest in a private family service at the Rushford Cemetery in rural Omro.
