Thomas "Tom" J. Schmidlkofer, age 79, passed away unexpectedly on July 6, 2025, in Oshkosh, WI. He was born on May 26, 1946, to parents, John and Ruth (Johnson) Schmidlkofer, in Fond du Lac, WI.
Tom graduated from Neenah High School and immediately entered the workforce. He spent 43 years working in tape production in a local manufacturing company and was in the Steelworkers Union. His favorite hat read- "Retired & Loving It."
He married Rose Meier, and they had a son, Richard, together in January of 1972. They spent many years together until her passing in 2003. Tom was lucky enough to find love a second time and on June 25, 2011, he married Sandra Habeck, they were inseparable, until her passing in 2019.
Tom enjoyed fishing, watching the Brewers and Green Bay Packers play, and all types of animals. He liked to try new foods and always bought a refrigerator magnet when he went on a trip for his collection. Most of all he loved listening to music and spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for being fun-loving and compassionate- always willing to help those in need and couldn't resist putting money into a red Salvation Army kettle.
He is survived by his son, Richard; sisters-in-law, Sharon and Donna; as well as other family and friends.
Preceding him in death was his first wife, Rose; second wife, Sandra; parents, John and Ruth; brother, John; parents-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and one sister-in-law.
