Obituary

Thomas V. Traxler, Sr., age 65, of Omro, passed away suddenly early Saturday morning, October 06, 2007 at home with his wife and family members present. He was born July 25, 1942 to Frank and Mary Traxler. Thomas had worked at Paine Lumber Company before opening a business of his own, Traxler's Kennel and Pet Shop in 1970, which is the oldest Pet Shop in the Fox Valley. He married Joyce Traxler on October 31, 1970 and gained a ready made family of 9 children. His hobbies in life included raising and breeding AKC Siberian Huskies and tropical fish. Other interests and passions in life included gardening and canning produce; mainly to share with the many he cared for. A man of few words, but a lot of love, is sadly missed by his wife, Joyce; children, Garth (Christine Drexler) Seiler of Oshkosh, Shelly Seiler of Green Bay, Sherre (Steve) Bathke of Omro, Renae (Howard) Hooper of Wild Rose, Bob (Debbie) Malchow of Omro, Thomas W. Traxler, Jr. of Berlin, Marty (Kim) Malchow of Oshkosh, Jim (Kris) Malchow of Wild Rose and Robin Malchow of Oshkosh; brother, Paul (Donna) Traxler; sisters, Lorraine (Al) Rivers, Margaret (Ed) Bauer and Arleine (John) Bathke; sister in law, Doris Traxler; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and best buds, Brutus and "Beanie Baby." Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Traxler, and brothers, Lawrance and Gilbert Traxler.

In respect to his memory, visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at the Omro Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. and then again on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church (Sacred Heart Site) Oshkosh from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. Thomas Reynebeau officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
