Travis J. Hazelwood, age 36, of Oshkosh, died Saturday evening, August 7, 2004 due to injuries from a motorcycle accident. He was born on March 30, 1968 in Oshkosh to Loren and Sharon (Wepner) Hazelwood. Travis was employed at Avery Dennison Finishing Center as a machinist. He was a high school graduate of Oshkosh West. He enjoyed bow-hunting, fishing, archery, and NASCAR events.
Survivors include two sons: Gunner Hazelwood and Brandon Allen, both of Oshkosh; his mother and step-father: Sharon and Steve Schneider of Oshkosh; his father: Loren Hazelwood of Neenah; two brothers: Jesse (Amy Pucker) Schneider and Troy Schneider both of Oshkosh; grandparents: Marion Kuphal of Myrtle Creek, Oregon; Evelyn Wepner of Oshkosh; Cathy Wepner of Portland, Oregon; Norman and Lorraine Schneider of Oshkosh; aunts and uncles: Bob Hazelwood; Cookie and Jerry Felder; Debbie and Kevin Wrest; nephews: Blake Schneider and Mason Wrest; friends: Troy Blank, Doug Lyons, and Brian Kent; special friends: Doug and Sharon Lewellyn. Preceding Travis in death are his companion: Jodi Lewellyn and two grandfathers: Eddie Kuphal and Les Wepner.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Deacon Raymond Brandenstein officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral chapel on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A memorial is being established in Travis' memory.
