Umberto DiGiosia, age 44, of Oshkosh, died as the result of a sudden illness on Monday, October 4, 2004 at Aurora Medical Center. He was born on December 28, 1959 in New Jersey, a son of the late Antonio and Josephina DiGiosia. He married the former Juliana Lynne Hagen on October 13, 1990 in St. Paul, Minnesota. He had attended the University of Madison, Majoring in History. Umberto's passions were that of Italian cooking and wines. He was a superb chef who greatly enjoyed cooking wonderful Italian meals for his family and friends. He also enjoyed fly-fishing, biking, and spending quality time with family and friends.
Umberto is survived by his wife, Juliana DiGiosia and their children, Leonardo Salvatore and Natalia Marie, all of Oshkosh. He is further survived by numerous dear friends and neighbors.
Funeral services will be held for Umberto on Friday, October 8, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at First Congregational Church, 137 Algoma Boulevard with the Reverends Ralph and Carol DiBiasio-Snyder officiating. Friends may call at the Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels 1025 Oregon Street on Thursday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. and also directly at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established through the Oshkosh Area Foundation in his name.
Umberto was an extremely dedicated husband and father who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
