Urlando Ventura, 83, passed away Thursday July 1, 2021 at Evergreen Retirement Community. He was born in Oahu, Hawaii July 13, 1937 to the late Eulogio and Edilberta Ventura. He proudly served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He then moved to Milwaukee to be closer to his brothers Crisencio "Cris" and William "Willy". In Milwaukee he went on to work at Briggs and Stratton for 29 years until he retired. He also worked at the VA in Milwaukee.
In 1961 he married Barbara Fultz, welcoming Thom, Tim, and Todd (Manthe) as his own children. He and Barbara had Trent and Lori. Later separating with Barbara but remaining friends.
Urlando was a hard worker that sacrificed all he had to provide the best life for his family. He is known by many as a giving, caring, humble, and sweet man. Later, he moved to Oshkosh to be closer to his son Trent and family. He would never turn down a game of cribbage or chess. He loved when family, friends, and Evergreen staff would visit and keep his mind busy and challenge him to a game. He made sure you never left without a treat.
Urlando is joined in heaven by his parents; brothers, Cris and Willy; sons, Tim and Todd; and former wife Barbara.
He is survived by his siblings, Honorio Ventura, Josephine Ventura, Caroline (Dan) Sato; children, Trent (Mary Beth) Ventura, Lori Ventura, Thom (Lonna) Manthe, Stefani Manthe; grandchildren, Mike, Angela, Justin, Asher, Robert, Lennon, Gaian, Brooke, Ashley, Timmy, Marie, Meghan, and Jen; and many great grandkids, cousins, friends and the Evergreen staff that he counted as family.
A memorial service will be held at Seefeld Funeral Home, 1025 Oregon Street, Oshkosh WI, on Saturday July 17, visitation will be 1pm to 3pm, followed by services.
Burial will take place at the veteran cemetery in King, WI at a later date.
