Velma Rose Opperman, age 96 of Oshkosh died Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at Park View Health Center. She was born August 25, 1913 the daughter of Floyd and Ethel (Calkins) Watkins. She married Raywald Louis Opperman on August 30, 1952 in Baraboo and he preceded her in death on July 12, 1996. Throughout her life Velma always had a love for dogs.

Velma is survived by: her brother, Floyd Watkins Jr. of Appleton; sister, Betty Wolfrath of Baraboo; nephew, Dale (Bonnie) Monsour of Oshkosh; as well as several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Raywald; and siblings, Retha Baldwin, Wayne Watkins, Ronald Watkins, Crystal Folyer, Paul Watkins and Ila Smith.
