Obituary

Vernus Clyde Larson, age 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at his son Larry's home in North Carolina. Vern was born in Darlington, Wisconsin on July 1, 1927, the second son of Melvin and Gladys Larson. The family moved to Omro, Wisconsin, where Vern resided for most of his life. He married Muriel Moriearty on September 13, 1948.

Vern was a patriot who served in the United States Army towards the end of the Second World War, and was active in the creation of Omro's Veteran's Memorial. He worked for many years at Bell Machine Company (later Medalist Industries). Vern was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and skeet shooting. He also traveled extensively, visiting 24 of the contiguous United States and three Canadian provinces.

Vern was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Muriel Larson; his parents, Glady and Melvin Larson; his brother, Vilas Larson; and is survived by his three children: Valerie (Adam) Arciniega of Fort Worth, Texas, Larry (Joy) Larson of Saluda, North Carolina, and Randy (Lorraine) Larson of Omro, Wisconsin.

A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the memorial service at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Kwiatkowski Funeral Home. Burial will be in Omro Junction Union Cemetery with Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Vern's name may be sent to American Legion Post #234, P.O. Box 234, Omro, WI 54963.
