Obituary

Mrs. Verona J. Haedt, age 87, of Omro, was called Home on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Evergreen Manor. Verona was born July 2, 1922 in Cory, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Clarence and Irene (Phillips) Naramore. She moved to Wisconsin in 1927. In 1937, she met the love of her life, Stephen Haedt, and they were married on July 10, 1940 on the family farm in rural Omro, with the Rev. Don Stanndard presiding. This union was blessed with five children. Stephen preceded her in death on March 10, 1992. She remained on the farm until 2008 when she moved to Brown Wilcox Assisted Living Facility, Berlin, WI.

During her life, Verona was a homemaker, well know for her baked beans, homemade doughnuts, homemade bread & butter. She cared for her grandchildren, lovingly teaching them life lessons.

Verona was a member of the United Methodist Church. She was a member of North Rushford Methodist Church from 1938 to 1971, when the church closed. She and her family then attended the Eureka United Methodist Church until 1981. At the time of her death, Verona had been a member of the Waukau United Methodist Church for 15 years.
In her lifetime, she was a member of the United Methodist Women (Ladies Aid), North Rushford Homemakers, Rebekah Lodge and Past Noble Grands, and WomenÂ's Relief Corps Sunshine Club. Verona also enjoyed playing cards with her lady friends. She worked at the Berlin Memorial Hospital for 6 years. Verona also wrote for the Omro Herald Newspaper for 50 plus years.



Verona is loved and will be missed by her children, Donna (Lee) Karlquist, Vancouver, WA; Kenneth (Ruth) Haedt, Omro; Ellen Sheets, Omro; Karen Haedt, Shorewood, WI and Russell (Carolyn) Haedt, Neenah, WI; 9 grandchildren, Julie (James) White, Kathleen (John) Hanley, Suzanne Henderson, Marcia Haedt, Brian Haedt, Karen (Bobby) Thomas, Randee Lesnick, Becky Haedt (Steven Hobbs), Dawn (Chad) Glasier; step grand children, Lee (Debby) Karlquist and Tom Karlquist; 22 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; step sister, Zoa (Max) Griffen, of Louisiana. Verona is further survived by many nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends, including spcial extened family members Sharyl Crump and Shirley Schiessll. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen; parents; step sister, Nancy Clow; step brother, Robert Clow; 6 sisters in law, 6 brothers in law and one step sister in law.

In respect to VeronaÂ's memory, the family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at the funeral home in Omro, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at Waukau United Church, Highway 116, on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Charles Davis & Rev. Mallothi Brown officiating. Following the service she will be laid to rest at North Rushford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the North Rushford Cemetery Association, Waukau United Methodist Women or Waukau United Methodist Church.
