Veronica M. "Roni" Grosskopf, age 69, of Omro, died early Friday morning, December 1, 2017 at Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah. Roni was born February 7, 1948, in Clintonville, the daughter of Emil and Myrene (Miller) Konkel. When she was a young child, her family moved to Oshkosh where she attended school, graduating in 1966 from Oshkosh High School. Roni had worked for 20+ years at the Unemployment Office in Oshkosh and when that office closed she went to work at the Candle Corp. Roni had a quick wit and good sense of humor. She enjoyed putzing around the house, cross stitch, spending time outdoors in her flower garden and keeping a spotless home. Roni always looked forward to spending time with her family and taking them on many family trips. She was a huge fan of NASCAR and enjoyed watching her favorite driver, Jeff Gordon. Roni loved good German food. Just recently, Michelle's friend Julie brought Roni a surprise dinner of pork hocks which she savored. This meal turned out to be Roni's last meal.
Roni is loved and will be missed by her daughter, Michelle L. Hanford and her adoring granddaughter, Makayla. She is further survived by brothers, Roger (Dorinda Cartier) Konkel and Larry Konkel; two nephews, her special friend, Linda Craig; other relatives and friends.
Per Roni's wishes, there will be no formal funeral service.
The family would like to thank the 5th floor nurses and Rev. John Krueger, Chaplain at Theda Clark for the excellent and loving care shown to Roni and the rest of her family.
