Viola Ester Leinweber died on Thursday morning November 29, 2007 at Evergreen Retirement Community after a long illness. Viola was born July 24, 1910 in Oshkosh to John and Elizabeth (Zurgiebel) Kleveno. She married John Leinweber Jr., her husband of seventy-one years, September 12, 1929 in Wheatland, Wyoming.

Viola (Vi) earned a certificate in infant hygiene in 1927. She worked on farms in Wyoming and Colorado and later at Diamond Match Company for a short while. She enjoyed baking and sewing for her family and loved to read. In her later years she enjoyed the visits with her great-grandchildren, Sabrina, playing the piano, and sharing her photo book with others. She was the family historian and told many stories about "her parents and the old country", especially, her earlier life out west. Vi was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.
She is survived by four children: Patricia (John) Wilson of Golden, Colorado, Richard (Judith) Leinweber of Oshkosh, Thomas (Eileen) Leinweber of Oshkosh and Claudia (Dan) Hurlbut of Oconomowoc; seven grandchildren: Jack (Jane McNellis) Wilson of Lakewood, Colorado, Robert (Debra) Wilson of Wheatridge, Colorado, Susan Wilson (Scott Trigg) of Los Gatos, California, Laurie (Steven) Mierswa of Oshkosh, Craig (Michelle) Leinweber of Ripon, Ross (Sarah) Leinweber of Highland Park, Illinois and Erin Coppernoll (Steven) of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and twelve great-grandchildren: Katherine and Andrew Wilson of Lakewood, Colorado, Rebekah, Jonell and Tarryn Wilson of Wheatridge, Colorado, Kristen Hurlbut of Los Gatos, California, Sabrina Mierswa of Oshkosh, Jacob, Samuel and Madalyn Leinweber of Ripon and India and Elyse Leinweber of Highland Park, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Leinweber Jr., four brothers: Conrad, Charles, Alex, and Alvin Kleveno and one sister, Amelia Leinweber.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 5:30 p.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Reverend Jeffrey Knoll officiating. A time of visitation and support will be held on Wednesday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Park.
