Violet M. Belles, age 80, of Oshkosh, died Saturday morning, August 1, 2015, at her home. Born on March 14, 1935, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of Bert and Eliza (Woodruff) Brooks, Violet married Arthur Belles and he preceded her in death on December 28, 2013.
She was employed as a Nurse's Aide for many years at various nursing facilities. Violet enjoyed gardening and canning her harvest, reading (especially cookbook recipes), dining out, picnics, traveling, and the occasional casino trip.
Survivors include her children, Jack (Robin) Belles of York, Nebraska, Linda (Jack) Velez of Highlands, Texas, Laura Duesterhoept of Oshkosh, Susan (Rolf) Schwenzig of Oshkosh, and Sharon (Hugh) Herrick of Duluth, Minnesota; 15 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; and her brothers and sisters. Violet was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Daniel Belles, and her parents.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in Seefeld Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street. Interment will take place on Friday in Minnesota.
