Violet Klabunde, age 96 of Oshkosh, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Eden Meadows in Oshkosh. Violet was born on August 20, 1914 in Oshkosh to August and Bertha (Birr) Pofahl. She married Lester Klabunde on September 25, 1937. Violet was a life-long member of Peace Lutheran Church where she was involved with Women's Bible Study, Lunch Bunch, V.P.'s, and Homemakers. She was also a member of the Universal Foundry Retirees and the Retirees Lunch Group of Miles Kimball. She had worked at Kings Laundry and Miles Kimball.
Left to forever remember and love Violet are her three sons, Richard (Sharon) Klabunde of Wheeler, Steven (Donna) Klabunde of Fond du Lac, Thomas (Carol) Klabunde of Oshkosh; two daughters, Karen Thompson of Milwaukee, Judith (Ronald) Nelson of Oshkosh; one sister, Doris Boldt of Greenfield; sisters-in-law, Charmaine Monroe of Oshkosh and Shirley Pressley of Wisconsin Rapids, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and close friends. Vi was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Lester in 1987; daughter, Linda Shellnut; son, Charles Klabunde and brothers, Eldor, Bernhard and Armin.
Funeral service for Violet will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will take place at the funeral chapel on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Oshkosh. Memorial contributions may be made to Peace Lutheran Church 150th Anniversary Fund.
