Violet F. Oestreich, age 84, of Oshkosh, died Monday morning, April 11, 2011, at Park View Health Center - Prairieside 2. Born on January 22, 1927, in Oshkosh, to Kenneth W. and Ann (Greidl) Cross, Violet was a graduate of Oshkosh High School.
Employed for many years by Evergreen Retirement Community in the housekeeping department, Violet had a deep love for her cats or any cat in need of love. She was a long-time member of Peace Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Dawn (Gary) Lux of Oshkosh, Julie (Robert) Firl of Oshkosh, and Ann (James) Landreth of Waupun; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Violet in death is a son, Dan Oestreich; her parents; a brother, Kenneth Burley Cross; and two sisters, Olive Wegner and Lois Brayton.
Memorial funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2011, at 6:00 p.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Reverend Martin Ruge officiating. A time of visitation and sharing of memories will be held on Thursday from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Memorials in Violet's memory may be given to Friends of Park View Health Center.
