Virginia J. Foote, age 86, died Wednesday evening, November 25, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center. She was born April 4, 1923, the daughter of Charles and Pearl (Robins) Hammond.

On October 20, 1945, she married Donovan H. Foote, at the Waukau United Methodist Church. Together they operated a dairy farm in the Town of Nepeuskun for a number of years. Virginia had taught school for a year at the Foote School, before going on to work at Ripon Good Cookie Factory. Following DonovanÂ's retirement, they toured and camped across the United States seeing new country and enjoying many new friends. Virginia was a homemaker at heart. She enjoyed cooking, baking, entertaining relatives and friends, crocheting, and reading. Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Virginia is survived by her sons, Dennis (Marjorie) Foote of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Duane Foote of Ripon; two grandchildren, Brian (Michele) Foote of Oshkosh and Deborah Foote of Chicago, IL; great grandchildren, Jordan, Samantha and Sydney Foote; brother, John (Arlene) Hammond of Redding, CA; sister in law, Betty Jo Hammond of Winneconne; brother in law, Gilbert Blaske of Oshkosh; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donovan; three children, Wayne (1946), Sandra Lee (1946), and Darrell Lee (1961); brother, Donald Hammond and sister, LaRue Blaske.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at the Waukau United Methodist Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Charles Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the Nepeuskun Cemetery.
