Obituary
Virginia Garza "Quina" LeRoy, age 76 of Oshkosh, passed away at her home with her family at her side, on Sunday, February 1, 2004. She was born on December 22, 1927 in Camargo, Nuevoleon, Mexico a daughter of the late Fidencio and Soledad (Pena) Garza. She married Charles Alfred "Charlie" LeRoy on December 10, 1966 in Alamo, Texas. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1996. Virginia attended both Universidad de Cuernavaca and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She was active in her church, St. Mary's Catholic in Oshkosh, the Campfire Girls and translating. Virginia will be remembered for love to cook, sew and garden.
Survivors include a son, Charles E. "Ed" (Laura) LeRoy and a daughter, Anna R. "Becky" LeRoy both of Oshkosh; two grandchildren, Charles E. "Chas" LeRoy Jr. and Justin J. Watson; two sisters, Tomaso (Jorge) Solis and Herminia (Juan) Lopez; three brothers, Rodolfo Garza, Homero (Nidia) Garza and Roberto (Rosario) Garza all of Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, Humberto Garza.
Funeral services for Virginia will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at the Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Fr. Robert Stegmann celebrating and Sister Judy Miller assisting. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral chapel on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aurora Hospice in Virginia's name.
Prayer for the Dead
God our Father, Your power brings us to birth, Your providence guides our lives, and by Your command we return to dust. Lord, those who die still live in your presence, their lives change but do not end. I pray in hope for my family, relatives and friends, and for all the dead known to You alone. I n company with Christ, Who died and now lives, may they rejoice in Your kingdom, where all our tears are wiped away. Unite us again in one family, to sing Your praise forever and ever. Amen.
