Virginia M. Zimmeran passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014. She was born in Oshkosh on July 28, 1921, the daughter of William and Clara (Shields) Strange. Virginia married Price G. Zimmerman in 1950. He preceded her in death on December 9, 1986.
Ginny was an avid sports fan, always cheering on "her" Packers, Brewers, Badgers, Bucks and Duke!
Survivors include her children, Price Zimmerman, Jr. of Buttes des Morts, Deborah (Dan) Leep, of Mequon; grandchildren, Nicholas Leep and Andrea Leep of Mequon; nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Price; daughter in law, Kathaleen; brothers, Harold (Loretta), Clarence, Willard and Earl Strange; brother and sister in law Edwin R. and Georgia (Zimmerman) Woldt; and her cat, Lucy.
Thank you to Affinity Hospice for their kind care. We would also like to give a special thank you to Bethel Home for all the years of care for mom. Ginny considered Bethel her "home" and enjoyed many happy years there. I know there are "Ginny" bracelets everywhere!
Our mom was the kindest, most generous, loving person I've known and she will be missed by our family forever.
Ginny will be laid to rest on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Lake View Memorial Park, 2786 Algoma Blvd., Oshkosh, please meet at the office. Memorials may be directed to Bethel Home Recreation Fund or Oshkosh Area Humane Society.
