Vivian I. Haynes, age 98, of Oshkosh, died Wednesday afternoon, June 25, 2014, at Park View Health Center. Born on January 20, 1916, in Ripon, Wisconsin, to Albert and Ida (Hoch) Martin, Vivian married John W. Haynes on May 23, 1936, in Oshkosh. John preceded Vivian in death on August 17, 1993, after 57 years of marriage.
Employed by J.C. Penney Company as a sales clerk for over 20 years, Vivian loved to travel, crochet, making quilts and afghans, and other craft projects for family and friends.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Ron Becker of Winneconne and a son, Jack Haynes of Oshkosh; grandchildren, Jodi (Dan) Kallas of Omro, Wendy (Bob) Roesler of Omro, and Michael (Nancy) Haynes of Neenah; great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Logan, and Ashlee Rose Kallas; Paige, Derek, and Tyler Roesler; William and Jack Haynes; a very dear friend, Rodell Riemersma of Oshkosh; and several nieces and nephews. Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and three brothers, Harold, Leonard, and Kenneth Martin.
A time to gather and share memories of Vivian's life will be held on Monday, June 30, 2014, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Seefeld Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, Vivian's family would appreciate memorials in her name to a charity of your choice.
