Wallace E. "Wally" Greenman, age 80, died at Theda Clark Medical Center on Wednesday, April 23, 2008. Born in Oshkosh on August 10, 1927 to Earl and Leona (Laabs) Greenman, Wally graduated from Oshkosh High School and attended UW-Oshkosh. On February 10, 1968 he married Sandy Rick; they celebrated 40 years together last February by renewing their vows.
Wally was a devoted father to his children and many foster children. He had a unique sense of humor. He was quiet, reserved, and always gave to others. He served in the US Navy, worked for the Railway Postal Service and the United States Postal Service. After a short retirement, he returned to working at 4Imprint. From the time he was young he enjoyed traveling. Wally enjoyed working in the yard, golfing, bowling, singing in the church choir, watching game shows, and being grammatically correct. He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and donated many gallons of blood, but nothing came before his family. He was looking forward to the birth of his first great-grandchild who will be born in the coming weeks.
Wally is survived by his wife, Sandy of Neenah; children: Vicki (Kenneth) Stadler of Oshkosh, Annette Hoffman of Oshkosh, and Timothy Greenman of Appleton; grandchildren: Joseph (Heather) Stadler, Amanda (fiance, Cory Olesen) Stadler, Kylie Robinson, and Emma Hoffman; and many cousins. Wally was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister: Eunice Greenman, and Aunts and Uncles.
