Walter J. Goode Sr., age 75, of Oshkosh, died Friday morning, December 5, 2008. He was born on April 17, 1933 in Waterbury, Connecticut to Walter P. and Mildred (MacMurtrie) Goode. On March 15, 1969 Walter married Linda Klemmer at Amenia, New York.
Walter was employed as a commercial truck driver but was also known as an accomplished carpenter for family and friends. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Nekimi; Paternal Order of Eagles-Aerie #267; Oshkosh United Alert Radio Team; Ducks Unlimited, and was an avid hunter.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Linda Goode of Oshkosh; children, Faith of Oshkosh, Jessica (Jeffrey) Radig of Oshkosh, Jess (Heather) Fraser of Beloit, Walter (Heidi) Goode Jr. of Oshkosh, a son-in-law, Kenneth Bednarek of Oshkosh; grandchildren, William (fiancee-Julie), Natasha, Matthew, Gregory, Colton, McKenzie, Eric, Justin, Tylor, Brittany, Damian, Matthew, and Casey; one great-grandchild, Harmony; brothers and sisters, Tom (Carol) Goode of The Villages, Florida, Sandy Sevenini of Holiday, Florida, Gertrude (Arnold) Doty of Horicon, Wisconsin, Bob (Irene) Goode of Waterbury, Connecticut, Janet (Ed) Staron of Winchester Locks, Connecticut; and several Klemmer brothers and sisters-in-law.
Preceding Walter in death are his parents; a granddaughter, Keeley; a brother, George Goode; and an infant sister, Nancy Goode.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 8, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Lake View Memorial Chapel, 2786 Algoma Blvd., with Reverend James Reiff officiating. A time of visitation and sharing of memories will be held on Monday from 12 Noon until 2:00 p.m. at the memorial chapel. An Eagle Service will be held at the chapel on Monday starting at 1:30 p.m. Walter's family is establishing a memorial in his memory.
