Warner (Rummy) Rumlow passed away at the age of 86 peacefully in his home in Omro Saturday, August 20, 2016, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Sylvia Rumlow and his brother, Wayne (Sue) Rumlow. He was born May 4, 1930 and is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Donna Rumlow and five children; Kirk Rumlow, Wendy (Dennis) King, Tami (Tom) Beier, Kipp (Heather Chapman) Rumlow, and Stacey (Steve) Frank. He will be greatly missed by his eight grandchildren; Chris Fransen, Alyssa (Doug) Carlson, Jimmy Beier, Sarah Beier, Mike Dobberstein, Alex Dobberstein, Amber Chamberlain, Quinn Chamberlain, and Sam Frank and four great-grandchildren as well as his nephew, Mark Rumlow, and niece, Kelly Rumlow Standke.Rummy spent his whole life in Omro. His parents owned and ran Springbrook Tavern for over 3 decades. He graduated from Omro High School in 1944 and was a very active member of the basketball, baseball and football teams. In 1950-1952 he proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War. When he returned home from war, he opened Rumlow's Sinclair gas station in Oshkosh and married Joan Miller. He spent the rest of his life performing various types of construction from carpentry to concrete, retiring as a foreman for PCS in Omro in 1992.Warner was well known for his ability to fix anything and could be counted on by friends and family to lend a hand to any project. He was always the life of any party or social event he attended. He was well known for his ability to croon along with the jukebox, sweep the ladies off their feet on the dance floor, and tell stories and jokes until the wee morning hours. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and snowmobiler and loved being surrounded by nature in general. In his lifetime he raced stock cars, participated in hundreds of golf leagues, and played every musical instrument he ever touched. His talents knew no bounds. There will be brief military honors Monday, (TODAY) August 22 at 1:00 P.M. at Kwiatkowski Funeral Home in Omro. Following this memorial we will be holding a "Celebration of Life" at Springbrook Tavern beginning at 2:00 P.M.
