Obituary

Warren L. "Shorty" Bohn of Waukau, Wisconsin was blessed with the healing grace of God as he reached for and was received into the loving arms of Jesus on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. Warren is the loving and faithful husband of Gloria A. (Gallert) Bohn. They were married 58 years.

Warren was born in 1932 in Waukau, the son of Warner H. and Laura H. (Kafer) Bohn. He grew up on the farms and in the general store owned by his parents. Warren graduated from Oshkosh High School and went on to earn a degree in agricultural engineering from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity.

After earning his degree, Warren proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a radar technician. After his honorable discharge from service, he returned home to Waukau to work in the family business. He successfully managed Bohn Implement in Berlin for over 50 years. He was co-owner of Bohn Farms and its entities. He served as a director of Farmers & Merchants Bank in Berlin for 42 years.

It wasn't enough for Warren to work at serving his customers during business hours. One of his great loves was working the soil on his own "40" and learning new planting and harvesting techniques. He was passionate about sharing with others the new and the tried-and-true. Chances are if you lived in the area and owned McCormick, International Harvester or Case IH equipment, you purchased it from Warren or his sales team. Service always went with the sale, no matter the time or the day.

When he wasn't working Warren enjoyed playing sheepshead, hunting, fishing, making maple syrup ("It's Heavenly!"), singing, and dancing with his bride. Warren was a generous man. He taught and mentored many. Education is a priceless gift he made sure each of his children and grandchildren have been provided.

Warren is survived by his wife, Gloria. He is the beloved father to daughters Susan Bohn and Kim Phillips, and to son, Randy Bohn. He is the cherished father-in-law to Sue's husband, Larry McDermott, Kim's husband, Tim Phillips, and Randy's wife, Jodi Bohn. Warren so loved his grandchildren Elliott and Kelsey Phillips and Ryleigh Bohn, and they love their Grandpa forever and ever.

Warren is also survived by his siblings, Betty Wirth, Gloria (Mike) Smith, Loretta (Edson) Allen, and Doug Bohn (Mary Ahonen), and by his brother-and sisters-in-law, Lawrence and Shirley Gallert, and sister-in-law, Margaret Gallert. Preceding Warren in death were his parents, in-laws, William and Hazel Gallert, brother, Donald Bohn and his wife, Dolores; brothers-in-law, Melvin Wirth and Donald Gallert. Very dear friends, past and present, are too numerous to mention and each added their own special twinkle to Warren's life. His family thanks each and every one of you for what you added to our lives.

Visitation will be held at the church where Warren was a faithful lifetime member, the Waukau United Methodist Church, on Friday, February 9th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and from 9:30-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 10.
