Wayne J Bero Sr., 82, Sobieski, Wis., died at home Friday evening, Sept. 3, 2010. He was born Nov. 28, 1927, in Green Bay, Wis., to Charles H. Bero and Florence Martell.
He married Jackie Vaillant on June 24, 1950, in Green Bay, Wis. Also, he served in the Navy for three years on the U.S.S. Wyandot where he traveled the ocean waters. After returning, he was later employed with Northwest Engineering for over 30 years.
During Wayne's past times, you could find him bowling in a couples league, enjoying car shows, whistling to the birds, fishing at Roberts Lake, watching boxing, playing cards with the family and doing word and jigsaw puzzles.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie, of 60 years; Wayne Jr (Mary Lynn) Bero, W. De Pere, Wis.; Rick (Sue) Bero, Suamico Wis.; Debbie (Clay) Nelson, Luxemburg, Wis.; Kathy (Jerry) Kurowski, Iuka, Miss.; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Anita; brothers, Kenneth and Charles Jr.; and grandchild, K.C. Lynn.
Memorial Service will be held Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Fort Howard Memorial Park in the Chapel. Family and friends may gather at Ashwaubenon Bowling Alley for a Luncheon and Remembrance of Wayne at noon on Thursday.
