Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather, Wayne E. Zimmer, age 90, of Omro on November 23, 2023 at his home.
He was born in Beaver Dam, WI on October 30, 1933. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he was an airplane mechanic. While stationed in California, he met the love of his life, Marlene Mulder. They were married on December 4, 1955. They then moved to Omro where they raised five children. Wayne was employed by the U.S. Postal Service in Omro for 38 years.
His hobbies included gardening, watching Packer games and attending Omro Foxes sporting events.
Wayne is survived by his sons, Mike (Phyllis) Zimmer and Mark Zimmer of Omro, Matthew (Allyce) Zimmer of Menasha; daughters, Nancy (David) Gay of Oshkosh and Marcy (Kenny) Affeldt of Seymour; five grandchildren, Kyle (Mary Sue) Zimmer, David Christenson, Amanda (Brett) Dill, Sammantha (Peter) Summerlin, and Ryan Zimmer; also eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Marlene.
A private service was held.
