Obituary

Wendy M. Schaefers will forever be known as an angel on earth. Without a doubt, when she entered heaven, she heard "Well done my good and faithful servant." Wendy, age 58, of Oshkosh, died Friday morning, January 18, 2019, in the loving presence of her family. Wendy's zest for life was unmatched. She was always the life of the party and was by far one of the most fun and loving women most have ever known. Wendy's passion for her faith, family and friends left an imprint on each of our hearts. Wendy radiated light and positive energy from her trademark "Parking Lot Pink Lipstick" to her Green Bay Packer jerseys … everything she did, she did with passion and enthusiasm. When you were with Wendy, you knew you were loved and you would have the time of your life.
Born on September 3, 1960, in Burlington, Wisconsin, she was the 6th child of William and Audrey (Savina) Warner. Wendy spent her early years in Antigo, Wisconsin, high school years in Sheboygan, and finished her education at University of Oshkosh where she received her BSN. As the Owner/Administrator of Preferred Home Health Care, thousands of patients have benefited from the services of Wendy and her team. If you met Wendy, you knew of her love for Jesus. She was a member of New City Community Church. She was often with Todd and her friends enjoying a round of golf, spending time on her boat, toasting life with a Moscow Mule and playing volleyball.
Wendy loved being a mother to her children and to many of her children's friends who adopted her as their mother as well. In addition to being a mother, her entire family meant the world to her. Survivors include her five children, Erika (Ryan) Wilson, Luke (Laura) Geiger, Samantha Marquardt, Alec Marquardt, and Abby Schaefers; her three grandchildren, Trevor, Cooper, and Allyson; her mother and stepfather, Audrey and James Hering; her seven siblings, Russell (Missy) Warner, Kelly (Mark) Campbell, Karen Erwin, Shawn (Pam) Warner, Sherry Warner, Michelle Thomas, and Spencer Hering; a sister-in-law, Kim Warner; 15 nieces and nephews, Erin, Jessie, Trayce, Bradley, Shayne, Andrea, Nicole, Casey, Kelsey, Hannah, Lily, Camille, Bryce, Ciara, and Skyler; and 9 great-nieces and nephews. Wendy was preceded in death by her father, a brother, William Warner, and a nephew, Dustin.
Memorial funeral services will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019, at Community Church, 2351 Ryf Road, Oshkosh, Wisconsin. A time of visiting and sharing of stories will be held at the church on Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Wendy's name will be utilized for New City Community Church and Cherry Meadows Hospice, which may go to Nicolet National Bank, 400 N. Koeller St., Oshkosh, Wisconsin, 54902
The family extends a special thank you to Theda Cancer Care Centers in Oshkosh & Neenah, Cherry Meadows Hospice for their amazing care, and to Wendy's loyal employees for their response to Wendy's illness these past months.
