William C. Gibson, age 90, of Oshkosh, died Thursday morning, July 21, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on July 16, 1926, and served his country during WWII with the U.S. Navy. He married the Betty Leonard in 1947. Bill was employed for over 30 years as a supervisor in the Printing Department of the Oshkosh Northwestern Newspaper until his retirement in the 1980's. He enjoyed time spent bowling, fishing, boating, and early morning walks with Betty at the outlet mall and later at Walmart.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Betty Gibson of Oshkosh, a daughter, Sandra (Dennis) Brucks of Neenah; a granddaughter, Nicole (Julio Moran) Wendt of Oshkosh; and six great-grandsons, Julio Jr., Anthony, Julian, Alexander, Gibson, and Owen; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Bill in death are his parents, a sister, Genevieve Jungwirth, and a brother-in-law, Donald Leonard.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016, at 4:00 p.m. in Seefeld Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Military Honors to follow. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Monday from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Interment will take place at Lake View Memorial Park.
