William "Bill" J. Hoernke, age 71, of Oshkosh, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015. He was born in Oshkosh on March 1, 1944. On August 19, 1972 he married Barbara Hensch at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. Bill worked for Oshkosh Corp. for over 40 years. He loved his motorcycle, including his Harley Trike. Bill will be remembered for getting along with everyone and his wonderful personality.
Bill is survived by his wife, Barb: children: Bill Hoernke, Jr., Robert Hoernke and Kristine Russell; grandchildren: Jenny Elandt and A.J. Russell; great-grandson, Noah Elandt; and former wife Dixie Barber. He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew; mother, Margaret Hoernke; step-father, Arthur Dutcher; and many aunts and uncles.
It was Bill's wish to be cremated with no services.
The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Karen Gremminger and the staff at the Cancer Center at Mercy. Further, a special thank you is extended to Affinity Hospice for their unbelievable care.
