William J. "Bill" King, age 18, died in an early morning car accident on December 9, 2006 near Wautoma. He was born to John King and Donna (Rasey) King on January 24, 1988 in Oshkosh. He graduated from Wild Rose High School in June, 2006 and was in the process of enlisting in the United States Army.
Bill had a big gentle heart, a passion for life and was full of curiosity. He loved sports, especially soccer. Bill started playing at the age of 4 and had since earned numerous awards. He loved animals, especially bald eagles, and he loved to go fishing. Bill was very talented, outgoing and friendly. He loved his family and was a proud and devoted father to Talon. Bill was loved deeply by his family.
Survivors include his mother Donna (Don) King, of Madison, John King of Wautoma, son Talon J. King of Waupaca, brother Nathan A. Montalvo of Oshkosh, sisters Caroline E. King and Alyssa J. Montalvo of Oxnard, CA, and brother Johnathan M. King of Wild Rose. Grandparents Nathaniel "Jack" and Teresa King of Knoxville, TN, Joyce Rasey of Oshkosh, Howard and Sue Gintner also of Oshkosh, and his great-grandmother Luella Sloup of Oshkosh further survive Bill. Numerous aunts and uncles also survive Bill: Richard (Dawn Hinds) Rasey, Laurie Rasey, David Rasey, all of Oshkosh, Kevin and Wanda Lipp of Pickett, Kim Olesen of Oshkosh, and Cheryl (James) Carley of Oshkosh, along with Godparents Pamela and Paul DeLap of Oshkosh. Many cousins further survive Bill: Jennie, Christina, Joseph, Justin, Cory, Shannon, Alli, Jenni, and Katie. Bill was preceded in death by his grandfather Francis Rasey, great-grandfather Wilbert Sloup, and his beloved dog, Sweetie.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Raphael the Archangel Church, 830 Westhaven Drive. Reverend Douglas LeCaptain will be officiating. Friends and neighbors may gather for a time of support from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at Seefeld Funeral Chapels, Oregon Street Chapel, 1025 Oregon Street and again from 9:00 A.M. at St. Raphael the Archangel Church until the time of service on Wednesday. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial in Bill's name for his son, Talon J. King.
