William C. Sager age 94 of Oshkosh, died at Aurora Medical Center on Friday, November 19, 2010. He was born to Adolph and Ida (Nehmer) Sager on August 31, 1916. He grew up in Oshkosh, and on September 20, 1941 he married Lorraine Wojahn in Grace Lutheran Church. They were married nearly 48 years before her death in August of 1989.
Since 1937, Bill was a proud Teamster as a truck driver. He drove truck all of his working life, completing his working career at CW Transport. He loved to dance. After the death of his wife and dance partner, Lorraine; he met Anita Jaksich who has been his best friend for the last twenty years. In retirement, Bill took up the game of golf and made a point to put in 18 holes every weekday. He would not golf on weekends because those days are for the working men. At age 82, he and Anita began to winter in Florida. He also enjoyed traveling west to spend time in the mountains.
Bill was a member of Living Water Church. He was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He and his grandchildren looked forward to their times at the cottage up north where he taught them to fish, hike, and have fun. He proudly boasted about his 13 great-grandchildren.
Surviving Bill are his daughters, Vicki (Joe) Shaver of Sheboygan and Linda (Larry) Ziemer of Oakfield; granddaughter, Tracy Shaver and her children: Kaitlyn, Zachary, and Alyvia; grandson, Corey (Tamy) Shaver and their children: MaKayla, McKenzie, and Jakob; grandson, Lance (Ann) Ziemer and their children: Emily, Wyatt, Owen, and Kalista; grandson, Lonny Ziemer; and granddaughter, Lorelei (Scott) Schwalbe and their children: Jenna, Abby, and Cooper; sister-in-law, Betty Ives; and best friend and soul mate for the past 20 years, Anita Jakisch and her son, John McDonald. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine.
A funeral service for Bill will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at Living Water Lutheran Church, 1585 South Oakwood Rd. A time for visiting and sharing memories will be held at the church on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
