William 'Bill' Weiss, age 76, Omro passed away peacefully on June 26, 2021 after just one day at Eden Meadows in Oshkosh. Bill was the second of four children born to Herbert and Dorothy Bartelt Weiss. He graduated from Omro High School in 1963 and soon after started his first job in Eureka at the Farmco Feed Mill. He knew where most dairy farms were in the area because of all his many trips he regularly made delivering feed.
In 1967 he married Carol Van Nuland of Kimberly, and their first home was in the upstairs apartment in the newly remodeled Eureka School House. In 1976, when Bill's dad retired, Bill returned to the Weiss Homestead purchased in 1912 by his grandparents William and Amanda Hubrig Weiss. Occasionally working at various other jobs along the way.
Bill enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing; being a dairy 4-H leader for Smile-A-While 4-H club; and in his later years enjoyed playing cards with friends at the Starlight Bar in Eureka, singing in his church choir and as a member of the Berlin Singers. As his health declined, he watched his old TV westerns and enjoyed doing puzzle books.
Bill is survived by his wife, Carol. Children: Jeffrey Weiss and his wife, Jill, Pine River; Julie Kastein and her husband, Kyle, Neshkoro; Douglas Weiss, Omro; and Beth Parnell and her husband, Phil, Omro. Grandchildren: Mariah Weiss, Trenton Weiss, Lana Jolin, Nathan Kastein, Noah Kastein, Vincent Parnell, and Morgan Parnell. Great granddaughter Winter Kastein and Aunt Laura Bartelt.
