Obituary

Zilpha "Sally" Delphine Hildebrand, age 97, was received into the arms of Jesus on Monday, May 5, 2014. She was born in her home in Omro on June 26, 1916, the daughter of the late George and Phee Antha (Porter) Straub. On May 26, 1945 she married Leslie Hildebrand at Grace Lutheran Church, Omro. In her early years, Sally worked for Wisconsin Power and Light in Omro. She then became secretary to the principal for Omro Middle and High Schools for 16 years. Sally enjoyed playing organ for Grace Lutheran Church for over 55 years, and studying the Bible.

Sally is survived by her children: Richard (Joyce) Hildebrand, Joan (Dennis) Kern, and Robert Hildebrand; son-in-law, Norman McPherson; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, with another expected to arrive in May. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie; and daughter, Carla McPherson.

The memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 720 Jackson Ave., Omro, with Rev. Richard Bartholomew officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at a later date in St. Paul Cemetery, Freemont.

The family extends a special thank you to Webster Manor, Omro for their wonderful care.

A memorial fund in Sally's name is being established for Camp Luwisomo, Wild Rose, WI, and Grace Lutheran Church, Omro, WI.
